Air Travel Threats
The U.S. Government is thinking about setting up a Flight Guard system(laser system built to jam and deflect enemy missile launches)on commercial airlines. The Isreali airline El Al has put these Flight Guard Systems on their fleet. The terrorists can buy shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missile launchers for as little as five hundred dollars to shoot down 40 civilian aircraft over the last 30 years.
International Impact
This problem is not only in the area around Kenya. There was a problem with an attempt at destroying up to ten U.S. aircraft at Heathrow Airport in London, England. The British Intelligent Agencies have arrested over two dozen suspects in London and Pakistan. This shows us that terrorism has no boundaries.
